How to use Tella to record your webinar
Overview
You can record your webinar any way you'd like (with Zoom, in EasyWebinar, directly from your computer). However, we often recommend Tella to advisors who are looking to increase the quality of their webinar video. Tella has flexible options that show more of the presenter's video while still displaying all their slides.
This guide walks you through each step — from setup to exporting your finished video.
1. Create Your Tella Account
Go to tella.tv.
Click “Get Started” or “Sign Up for Free.”
Use your work email address (recommended) to create your account.
Follow the quick on-screen prompts to set your preferences.
*Tella usage is optional and at your own expense. If you choose to use this tool, you'll need to create and pay for your own account.
2. Prepare Your Materials
Before recording, gather:
Your webinar slides (PowerPoint, Keynote, or PDF).
A presentation outline or script — keep it conversational.
A quiet, well-lit space for recording.
A good microphone (your computer mic works, but a USB mic sounds even better).
Tip: Practice your flow once or twice before hitting record — Tella’s interface makes re-recording easy if needed.
3. Choose Your Recording Layout
Log in to your Tella account.
Click “New Recording.”
Choose your recording setup:
Camera + Slides: For a presenter view beside your slides (recommended).
Camera + Screen: To walk through visuals or browser-based presentations.
Slides Only: For a voiceover-style format.
Upload your slides when prompted.
4. Record Your Presentation
When your setup is ready, click “Start Recording.”
Speak clearly and maintain eye contact with the camera.
Navigate your slides using your keyboard or the on-screen controls.
If you make a mistake, pause and re-do that section — you can trim or re-record clips later.
Tip: Keep energy in your voice — imagine you’re presenting to a live audience!
5. Edit and Finalize
Once you’re done recording:
Review your full recording in Tella’s editor.
Use Tella’s built-in tools to:
Trim awkward pauses.
Replace or re-record segments.
Adjust layout or transitions.
Add custom branding, if desired (your logo or name overlay).
Keep your total video time around 30–40 minutes for optimal webinar engagement.
6. Export and Share with Steep
When you’re satisfied with your final video:
Click “Export” in Tella.
Choose “Download MP4” for the highest compatibility.
Name your file clearly (e.g., “SmithRetirementWebinar_March2026”).
use We Transfer to send your file to Steep
Our production team will handle uploading, hosting, and integration into your campaign.
Best Practices
Keep your lighting even and camera at eye level.
Maintain a friendly, confident tone — your goal is to educate, not sell.
Always end with a clear call-to-action (schedule a consultation, register for follow-up, etc.).
In Summary
Tella provides a fast, intuitive way to produce high-quality webinar recordings that fit seamlessly into your Steep Marketing campaigns.
By following these steps, you’ll have a polished presentation ready to captivate your audience online — anytime, anywhere.
